I spent a longer weekend at the Michigan Association of Student Councils. As always, it was a super fun event with some great student leaders. Flight schedules added an extra night to my trip, allowing me a wonderful opportunity to visit with some advisors outside the big dance.
It was a blast. We spent over an hour sharing our various stories:
…about faculty variety and dance shows…
…about significant others…
…about amazing students we’ve met over the years…
…about some plans for leadership programs…
…and much more.
It was a real treat. I didn’t know these advisors much before our conversation, but as I saw one at breakfast this morning, we reconnected and both described how much we enjoyed that wonderful conversation.
I could have sat in my hotel room. I could have just watched TV.
But I got lucky, and had the chance to meet some truly incredible advisors.
Take some time to meet some cool people around you. The results can be quite awesome.
