It's been twelve days since my Team in Training informational meeting, and my "pre-training" has been relatively non-existent. I came down with a cold a few days after the info meeting and
have spent a bit of time over the past two weeks resting and drinking tons of fluids. I was able to get out a few days and walk my dog. My time indoors wasn't completely wasted-I spent a bit of time working
on the content you now see in this section of the website. I hope next week will be a bit better; I need to get in shape.

I just attended my Team in Training kick-off today and I feel so energized. My "pre-training" workouts were a bit better this week. I was able to make it into the gym a bit and did a few minor run/walks.
Honestly, prior to attending the kick-off today, I was having some doubts. My right knee was acting up a bit on one of my run/walks and my endurance is lacking. When I was in high school, I could run a 6-minute mile. Now,
I'm struggling just to complete a mile all of the way. Today, though I went to the kick-off and really have some motivation. The stories of the cancer survivors are really uplifting and the whole Team in Training staff is so encouraging.
My two mentors, John & Karen, really welcomed me in and assured me that Team in Training will help me get to the place where I want to be. I received a structured workout for the next two months and can't wait to get started tomorrow (today was deemed a "rest" day by the schedule).
