If you read the Fall ’03 Minute Motivator, you know that I identify more with Michael J. Fox than Michael Jordan. At most athletic events, I look as out of place as Marty McFly in the old west. Since graduating from college, regular exercise is more something I remember rather than something I do. It’s time for this to change and for me to take undertake one of my most physically and mentally challenging goals. Related Links

The Goal

Raise $3,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society by May 10th and run the San Diego Rock 'n Roll Marathon (26.2 miles) in under 4:45:00 on June 6, 2004.

The Plan

I’ve signed up with Team In Training the world’s largest endurance training program, to help prepare for this event. I will be matched with coaches, mentors, and captains who will push me physically and mentally over the next four months in a variety of workouts and timed runs. At the same time, I’ve committed myself to raising $3,000 for The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society and will be planning a variety of events and campaigns to raise the funds.

Please visit this section often to learn more about these blood-related cancers, meet the incredible people for whom I am running the race, read about the weekly highs, lows, and personal lessons in my training & fundraising, and/or donate to this incredible cause.

I’m challenging myself to Dream Big this year. Find out how I make this dream a reality.
